Gerillasonen plot
Zanyar Adami was born in Iraq. At the age of five he was put on a plane to Sweden by his parents. His father isn't even at the farewell. Now, 23 years later, Zanyar is sitting in his kitchen in a suburb of Stockholm. His father Taher sits opposite him. Zanyar can become a father himself any moment now and he knows he can't wait any longer. He must confront his father with a question he has not dared to ask all his life. How could Taher leave him in the middle of a war and send him to Sweden all by himself? As his wife's pregnancy progresses, Zanyar grows increasingly nervous; he fears that he will follow in his father's footsteps and be absent from his son's life. He persuades Taher to return to Iraqi Kurdistan, where they have not returned since their flight twenty years ago. He tries in all kinds of ways to get Taher to talk, but he does not get answers to his questions. In the face of that great silence, Zanyar is forced to face his own past.
