Omar Cabezas is one of the faces of the guerrillas against dictator Anastasio Somoza DeBayle in the 1970s in Nicaragua, which culminated in the overthrow of his government in 1979. The book he wrote about his years as a freedom fighter in the mountains, Fire from the Mountain, served as the guideline for this 1987 film of the same name.
