Fire from the Mountain plot

Omar Cabezas is one of the faces of the guerrillas against dictator Anastasio Somoza DeBayle in the 1970s in Nicaragua, which culminated in the overthrow of his government in 1979. The book he wrote about his years as a freedom fighter in the mountains, Fire from the Mountain, served as the guideline for this 1987 film of the same name. Cabezas, who joined the new government after the victory, tells of the mountains where the Sandinistas – then a meager club of about twenty men – had entrenched themselves and of his hardships. , fears, doubts and beliefs.
