Finding Sally plot

In the early 1970s, Sally, a young woman from a wealthy Ethiopian family, joins the communist party and ends up on the military government's most wanted list. She goes into hiding and her family never sees her again. Four decades after Sally's disappearance, filmmaker Tamara Dawit sets out to find answers about Sally, the mysterious aunt that no one in the family ever told her about. She looks back on the Ethiopian revolution and the terrible period that followed. A quest for identity, personal beliefs and political ideals at a time when Ethiopia is once again going through major political changes.
