“There are so many films made about the poor in which actors play the part of the poor, while there are plenty of people who naturally play these roles. Offer these people work and therefore a little more pride'. This has been the thinking behind Julio Arrietta, himself a resident of a slum in Buenos Aires. In order to generate income for himself and as many others in the slum as possible, he sets up a casting agency, specializing in actors for the roles of the poor. An investigation into the poignant paradox of art in the slum, commercialization of poverty and self-management as a survival strategy.
