Durchfahrtsland plot

'Durchfahrtsland' is a German heimat film about the strange world close to one's own front door, an area through which one races in twenty minutes on the highway, located between Cologne and Bonn. The people who live there are each trying to conquer their place in this center of their world. This documentary follows four inhabitants for a year and paints a personal portrait of an area that only at first sight seems insignificant and meaningless. A typical part of the German province, in which the inhabitants proudly keep their rites, myths and stories.
