Die Grube plot

It is winter and 5 degrees. People sit in the warm water, leaning against the edge of a thermal pool. Behind them lies the sea, an infinite expanse. What at first glance looks like a beautiful spa town by the sea, the people of Varna simply call “The Well”. A cinematic portrait of the Bulgarian present and an investigation into a microcosm that represents an entire society. The regular visitors to the basin are the protagonists. Personal stories, interpersonal conflicts and discussions together form a diverse picture.
