Deserter plot

Ryan Johnson and his wife Jen flee from the American Central Valley to Toronto. Johnson has deserted from the US military after being told he would be deployed to Iraq against all promises. Johnson, who, like many peers, joined the military only because of high unemployment, views the war in Iraq as an illegal and immoral attack.
