Denok & Gareng plot

Denok and Gareng met when they were both living on the streets in the Indonesian city of Jogjakarta. Denok was fourteen when she ran away from home, slipped further and further, became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. In 2005 she met Gareng, who was also living on the street at the time. They married and moved in with Gareng's parents in a small village on the outskirts of Yogyakarta. Denok & Gareng observe the daily life of the couple and their family. Gareng's father left years ago, leaving behind a mountain of debts, so Denok and Gareng, his brother Soesan and his mother have to take care of two younger brothers and Denok's daughter Frida.
