Dem Vi Var plot
Opening with an emergency call for an ambulance, Sine Skibsholt shows in her documentary debut how a Danish couple's relationship is tested by a sudden stroke. A series of photos shows what Mette Line and Kristian's life was like before the attack: holidays, parties, a move, two children. All that acquired happiness makes way for visits to hospitals, rehabilitation centers and therapists. Skibsholt follows the family from the stroke, from spring to spring. In that year we see that Kristian is getting stronger physically, but his head is not cooperating. A third of his brain is permanently damaged and he can't remember the relationship he once had with Mette. Kristian's minor mental and physical victories are followed by insecurities, disagreements and arguments...
