De Wereldverbeteraar plot

Documentary portrait in which the directors of the First Amsterdam Film Association, René Seegers, Leon de Winter and Jean Van de Velde, go in search of the Austrian playwright Thomas Bernhard (1931-1989), who leads a secluded life on a farm. In addition to recordings of his home, city shots of Salzburg and conversations with Bernhard and people from his environment, the film also shows fragments from the German-language performance of Bernhard's play The World Improver.
