De Stamhouder plot

The writer Alexander Münninghoff takes us to places that play an important role in his traumatic family history. Riga, Wurzburg, Brabant, The Hague. Fleeing the Soviet threat, ambushed by World War II. The Eastern Front, a new life in the Netherlands, the divorce of his parents. A reflection on the role of history in this family driven by resentment, nostalgia and the pursuit of fortune. This is how the theme of this documentary grows: the will to survive, however painful and difficult that may be.
