De Laatste Sessie plot

A documentary by Hans Hylkema about the life and music of the American jazz musician Eric Dolphy. His biographer Thierry Bruneau, who was involved in his performances in the Netherlands and Germany, and musicians and people from his immediate environment, have their say. Dutch musicians in the documentary include: Han Bennink, Misha Mengelberg and jazz historian Michiel de Ruyter. Of course, the documentary also pays a lot of attention to Dolphy's music, black-and-white recordings (and photos) Eric Dolphy and recordings of cities (Paris, Berlin and Los Angeles) that played a role in his life.
