De Kick plot

In De Kick, Gerrit van Elst follows a number of people who all struggle with some form of addiction: alcohol, heroin and soft drugs. What interests the maker is not the more sensational aspects of the subject, but the psychology of the addicts. The film gradually works towards a (possible) answer to the question of why people can become addicted. Which factors play a role in this? Everyone can eventually become addicted.
