De Dodendraad plot

During the First World War, the Netherlands was neutral. But in border villages like Clinge and Koewacht, the war was impossible to ignore. Streets were cut in half by a long, electrified barrier: the Death Wire. In Belgium, this period is extensively documented, but on the Dutch side, it remains largely obscured; in some cases, it has even been deliberately erased.
