De Applausman plot

Antoon De Pauw was a cult figure in the 90s. In the press he was nicknamed "The Applause Man". No performance, event or show was safe for Antoon De Pauw. Tightly dressed, he entered all kinds of stages without being asked and received the applause for others. The purpose of his actions was a mystery. Was it a rebellion against the emerging mass media and talent shows of the time or was it just a cry for attention?
