Das Moor plot
Peat bogs and areas are oases in the cultivated landscape of Central Europe. Nature has many surprises in a peat bog - it seems that some of the most bizarre and colorful members of our native species live in the peat bog. There are plants that eat animals and mushrooms that suck the life out of plants. The snipe mating and the hatching of a crane chick are just some of the wonders that happen in the bog every season. Today, the European Union is the world champion in releasing dangerous greenhouse gases through the destruction of heathland and peat bogs. This documentary shows the biodiversity of the often rarely recognized habitat, a silent call to save the last heathlands and keep them intact.
