In 'Dance for Life', the third part of her triptych about dancers, director Marijke Jongbloed returns with Ilja Louwen, Reinbert Martijn, Digna van Boetzelaer, Lydia Harmsen and Belle Bonarius. In 1980 they dreamed of a career in the dance world. All but one of them has now stopped, but their love for dance is still as deep as it used to be. A documentary about passion, sacrifice and childhood dreams. Marijke Jongbloed films the dancers as young people and later as young adults. Their dreams are big and so are their sacrifices. Now their heavy dance career is over and they are looking back and forward. They all had to reflect on a life after the dance. Some are still working in the dance world, others have chosen a completely different direction. But whether they became ballet teachers or prosecutors, their passion for dance is still palpable. They are dancers for life.
