Crazy plot
“The war put me through a meat grinder. Then another person was molded from it.' The documentary Crazy focuses on the traumatic experiences of a number of Dutch UN soldiers. From the first peacekeeping mission in Korea in 1950 to the war in Cambodia, Lebanon and most recently, Bosnia. A number of veterans reminisce in front of the camera. They tell how they processed their emotions. The music they played at the time is inextricably linked to those testimonies. Crazy van Seal reminds a marine of the horrific massacre on the Sarajevo market, a Dutchbat soldier in Srebrenica overcame his fear on the perilous road 'Bomb Alley' by turning Guns 'n Roses hard and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater helped a female blue helmet into Cambodia to process child prostitution. Photos and video images made by the soldiers visualize the memories.
