Congo Beat the Drum plot
Tel Aviv DJ and record collector Ariel shares his love for Jamaican reggae music with sound engineer Uri. Ariel, also known by his stage name Kalbata, obsessively collects the movement called rub-a-dub: 'the sound of the ghetto'. Ariel and Uri make music together, preferably recorded analog and played on old synthesizers, such as the Moog. They want to provide vocals in Jamaica for the instrumental tracks they record in Israel. Together with their musical hero Jah Thomas, they take a tour of studios in Kingston in search of the best guest singers - including Puddy Roots, Ninjaman, Major Mackerel and Little John.
