Closing Time plot

Several entrepreneurs, including a middle-aged couple who run a simple eatery, are working at a busy intersection under a viaduct in Taipei under dim fluorescent lighting. A little further on, a younger bunch of slot machines emptied; scooters navigate among the merchandise in a market hall; two bright red tropical fish in an aquarium give each other kisses. Director Nicole Vögele observes it calmly and alternates close-ups with wide shots and short conversations with silence.
