Cleanflix plot
Dozens of DVD store owners in Utah unwittingly caught the attention of Hollywood household names when they cut sex, nudity, swearing and violence out of movies, in the name of conservative family values, without the creators' permission. This documentary shows the rise and fall of this so-called 'clean movement'. Both directors grew up in the Mormon community where this story was set, giving them access to key figures in the movement.
