Checkpoint Molenhoeve plot

In Veendam, along a remote peat canal, former Unifil soldier Bert Nanninga (UN mission Lebanon, 1979) uses his own money to set up a veterans' walk-in house. Together with other former soldiers, a dilapidated building is being restored and a replica is built of a checkpoint from the war in Lebanon, where a lot of time was spent during the war. Under the motto "work for five minutes, break for fifteen minutes", they are working towards the official opening of De Molenhoeve.
