Charm City plot

This documentary is a report of gun violence in Baltimore from the perspective of the police, government and local activists. Filmed over three years in a city with a sky-high murder rate and a complicated relationship between the police and the African-American population. Filmmaker Marilyn Ness wanted to portray the lives of the normal people behind all the violence. However, when young Freddie Gray died in police custody, she suddenly found herself in a media storm in a place where tensions have risen to boiling point.
