Carnavalsvrouwen plot

In her documentary 'Carnivalsvrouwen', Anne Marie Borsboom portrays six women to whom carnival means much more than celebrating. Being drunk and 'taking possession of the street' is mainly reserved for men, but women let themselves go even more passionately than men during Carnival, the filmmaker discovered. Carnival is a party where women also appropriate that right. The documentary is about five generations of women and the freedom they experience in those few days a year.
