Building a Legend plot

The documentary Building a Legend focuses on the search for the authentic sound of the Steinweg 1836 piano. The "first Steinway Grand" piano, which marked the start of the most important piano dynasty in the world: Steinway & Sons. Flemish master instrument builder Chris Maene, Steinway, the great-grandson of the original builder and top pianist Abdel Rahman El Bacha have a common dream, which is to hear the original sound of the first Steinway Grand piano again. When Chris Maene decides to create a unique replica, it marks the beginning of their shared dream. Following Chris Maene's path, Building a Legend tells the story from within, in encounters between pianists and builders. The documentary thus provides an insight into the other side of the international music world. The filmmakers go where the media gives up and the public can't reach.
