Bubot Niyar plot
The Fillipinos, Giorgio, Cheska, Sally, Jan and Chiqui, try to survive as transsexuals in multicultural Israel. They belong to the large group of immigrants living in Israel in the (semi-)illicit condition. During the day they work as loving caretakers for the elderly, at night they perform in Tel Aviv with a cross-dressing act. However, this double life is jealously hidden. Not only because of their origin, but also because of their homosexuality, the Paper Dolls are constantly and from all angles condemned. The relationship between one of the Paper Dolls and the elderly Chaim serves as a common thread.
