"Imagine a school where the cool kids are the chess team. Welcome to I.S. 318"

IS 318 is a school in Brooklyn, New York where 65 percent of students come from families with incomes below the poverty line. Yet they have the best chess team in the United States, and that has been very rewarding for the school. However, austerity measures as a result of the current recession threaten to throw a spanner in the works.
