Brood en Boter plot

'Bread and Butter' portrays Palestinian workers who commute from their home to work in Israel. To obtain work permits, they queue for hours and are searched by sniffer dogs. Some of them don't even survive the hectic pace of the checkpoints. Others enter Israel with the help of smugglers. All these Palestinian workers work for the sole purpose of earning a living for their families. Under the Israeli occupation, hundreds of Palestinian workers live in fear of not being able to return home. The pandemic is only making things worse.
