For four years, the director followed the boxing culture in eastern Los Angeles, where there are more boxers per square mile than anywhere else in America. Twins Oscar and Javier Molina and their intense relationship with their trainer Robert Luna, who has been training them since the beginning, are at the heart of the story. Viewers get to see their final years fighting as children, and their transition into the adult ranks of the boxing world. In addition, their lives outside the sports world are also discussed, such as their family who once made a dangerous journey from Mexico across the border to America.
