Boli Bana plot

A group of young boys and girls from the colorful West African Fulani people grow up separated from each other in the savannah. The Fulani people are the oldest Muslim nomadic pastoralist people in West Africa who have developed a rich tradition of making figurative objects. The daily activities of the group are interrupted by rituals that lead to adulthood. Filmed close to the skin, the pain and endurance associated with the rituals and daily experiences are almost physically palpable.
