Bitva o Zivot plot

Film about life in the Czech village Bystré. The economic conditions are dramatically bad, unemployment is unprecedented and the last textile factory is also closing its gates. "We thought we would be better after 1968, but that turned out not to be true," laughs a factory worker who is about to lose her job. Humor is important in the lives of the inhabitants of Bystré; humor, parties and lots and lots of booze. The three directors, each with their own style, followed different villagers and activities: a farmer and his old mother, who drinks her son under the table with ease; reenactment of a World War II battle - where, to everyone's hilarity, the farmer's tractor is lost; and the New Year's party, one big colorful evening.
