Big World plot
How do we teach our children that there is a world beyond social media, standardized tests and soccer training? In this short film, we follow David Morton and his seven-year-old son Thorne on a week-long stand-up paddleboard trip along the Karnali and Bheri rivers in western Nepal. David wants to make Thorne's worldview bigger than just their own Seattle neighborhood. By actively exploring the world, we can grow. 'Parenting has a fundamental paradox,' says David. 'You have to protect your children, but you also have to teach them to take risks and follow their curiosity. Life is richer if you dare a little more.'
