Before the Revolution plot
"The untold story of the Israeli paradise in Iran."
Before the 1979 Revolution, Israel and Iran had close "unofficial" relations and Iran had a very thriving Israeli community that lived in Tehran in great luxury and comfort for the most part. Villas with gardens and swimming pools attracted many wealthy Israelis to the Iranian capital. Iran was one of the first countries to recognize the Jewish state in 1950, although it had previously voted against the Partition Plan in the United Nations in 1947 and later voted against Israel's membership in the UN. After the 1979 Revolution, relations were frozen. Today, Iran does not accept holders of Israeli passports and prohibits them from traveling to 'occupied' Palestine.
