Balagan plot

A few years ago, three actors from completely different cultural backgrounds made the controversial five-hour play 'Arbeit macht frei' about their life in Israel. Theater and reality are strongly intertwined with these three actors. Khaled is of Palestinian descent and is regarded by some Palestinians as a collaborator because of his work in the Israeli theater world. Madi, the daughter of a father who survived Sobibor, opposes the institutionalization of the Holocaust as a "new Israeli religion". And Moni, son of immigrant Iraqi Jewish parents, feels torn between his family's orthodox and conservative views.
