Asurot plot
In the center of Hebron, three Palestinian widows with their eleven children live in absurd circumstances. Since 1997, their house has been right on the border: the front is under Israeli control, the Palestinian authorities rule the back. An Israeli military post has been placed on the roof, and the stairwell is also teeming with soldiers. They are not allowed to cross the border, so that the women are prisoners in their own house. One of the three women, who became a widow at the age of twenty-four, tells how she has become 'sick with life' in the meantime. She has to clean up the mess from the soldiers, the neighborhood is gossiping about her, and she has to raise her children alone—something she doesn't enjoy at all, she says.
