As Canções plot

Director Eduardo Coutinho asks fellow countrymen, seated on a chair on an empty stage, about a song that has influenced, determined or irrevocably changed their lives. One by one they tell which song it is and sing it a cappella as if they were auditioning. The song is often accompanied by a moving story, unexpected outpouring or an unlikely story of cheating and adultery.
