Apple Stories plot
Hamburg-based documentary maker Rasmus Gerlach has made it his mission to expose the production chain of Apple's mobile devices, and in particular that of the iPhone. Before that he visited Hamburg, Rwanda and the Chinese city of Shenzen. The first consideration to have is that the humble wages of the miners are never enough to feed an entire family. The production process at Apple's tin mines in Rwanda barely pays workers more than the price of a T-shirt, let alone enough to eat. Moreover, the workers in Shenzen are under such pressure that the number of suicides has risen spectacularly. Workers are guarded, unions are suppressed and wages are terribly low.
