Anita plot
"Speaking truth to power"
Anita tells the story of the young, brilliant African-American Anita Hill who accuses Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of unwelcome sexual advances during the 1991 Senate hearings. The accusation sends a political storm over sexual harassment, race, power and political impact that is still noticeable 20 years later. The film provides a dramatic look at the consequences for a citizen who speaks the truth about power. For the first time, she speaks freely about her experiences during the Senate hearings and the impact it had on sexual harassment, men's and women's rights in the workplace, social justice and equality.
