Almost Heaven plot

Ying Ling delicately washes the face of the motionless body. Using a damp cloth, she carefully cleans the hands, feet and finally the trunk. The 17-year-old girl is far from home and is preparing for her exams in one of China's largest funeral homes. From a respectful distance, the film documents Ying Ling's doubts and fears as she shares the intimate moments of a final goodbye. Her fear of the ghosts that may lurk in the long corridors of the crematorium is discussed, as well as the playful camaraderie with her colleague, with whom she gradually develops a close friendship.
