Adio Kerida plot

“Adio Kerida” is a story about an American who seeks his roots in post-war Bosnia, at a time when everyone wants to immigrate to America from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Through the search of the young American Jew of Polish descent for his great-uncle, the viewer becomes acquainted with almost the entire milieu of Sephardi Jews living in Sarajevo. By mixing realistic images with surreal ones, in which the young American imagines the world that no longer exists, the filmmaker tells the story of a man who became a legend. The great-uncle, the story goes, knew the kabbalah, practiced magic and medicine, photographed elves and could even stop the rain. Did he really exist or does he just embodies the filmmaker's hope that the impossible can also exist in contemporary Bosnia?
