She has hardly read his books. Not even “The Wolf's Lair”, the most famous. Who was this man, about whom her mother once heard such a terrible story that she never trusted him again? And why was he away from home for years? Catarina Mourao unravels some of her family's secrets in an intimate yet universally meaningful way. In this way, her film also becomes a portrait of dictatorship and resistance, and of the urge to create art.
