A Radical Compromise plot

Minerals have brought us a lot. Coal, gas, oil and minerals enabled the industrial revolution, liberated much of humanity from hopeless poverty and brought about an unprecedented boom in the world economy. The dark side of this success story is the depletion of the earth, of which we have only become aware relatively recently. This documentary wants to impress upon the viewer the need to act quickly by immersing him in the reality of a lignite mine. Drone shots, ghostly photograms, electron microscope scans and 3D image manipulations reveal the traces left by human actions in the skin of the planet.
