A Long Breath plot
Ibrahim lives in Bab Al Tabbaneh, one of the most deprived areas of Tripoli in northern Lebanon, where feuds linked to two civil wars – the Lebanese and the Syrian – tear the community apart. Chances of finding work here are slim, especially for Ibrahim, who has a criminal record. Now that his girlfriend is pregnant, he dreams of a devout Muslim existence, a job and a house of his own. But usually the appetite for drugs, booze and illegal gambling wins.
