A Flickering Truth plot

Ibrahim Arify once fled his native Afghanistan for the mujahideen. He has been back since 2012, as head of the Afghan Film Institute, to lead the inventory and restoration of Kabul's badly damaged film archive. The search through 8000 hours of dusty film material produces a new surprise every day. While employees look at the recovered material, they reminisce about their childhood: of the films they saw or made, of the society they lost.
