752 Is Not a Number plot

The downing of the Ukrainian airliner 752 over Tehran airspace on January 8, 2020 shocked the world. All 176 passengers were killed, including women, children, university students and academics, many of whom were Canadian residents or citizens. The tragedy came amid renewed tensions between Iran and the United States following the assassination of an Iranian general in Iraq. Iran's retaliation for the general's assassination was a missile attack on US military installations near Baghdad on the morning of January 8. The exchange heightened tensions and both sides braced for a military escalation.
