Both sides are sure that their candidate is the best and if the other side wins, US citizens are all in for some kind of disaster in the next 4-8 years. In 2000, the political spotlight shines on Miami because Dade County (where Miami is located) would be the deciding factor in the victory for George W. Bush. However, the international custody battle over six-year-old Elian Gonzalez causes a political earthquake and has a major impact on the outcome of the presidential election.
