In Ten by Kiarostami, Mania Akbari played herself, she was the main actress driving the car. Even now she takes people in her car. In that little cocoon she talks to relatives and acquaintances. They do more than palpate about everyday things, they also dissect their relationships with friends and loved ones to the bone. Mania spares no one, including itself. But she is suffering from cancer. If the disease gets worse, she can no longer drive herself, then she has to take the back seat. Gradually we see how the chemotherapy erodes her beauty and how the disease begins to direct her film.
