Joyce King and the engineer Fred MacNeil are a newly married couple. Their honeymoon comes to an abrupt end when Fred is falsely accused of murder and he ends up in jail. Thanks in part to the efforts of the ambitious assistant to the public prosecutor John Marlin, Fred can face the death penalty. Joyce, meanwhile, does her best to prove her husband's innocence. Fred's fate seems to be in the hands of Peggy Athens, Joyce's ex-husband's resentful girlfriend. Peggy would know the real killer.
