The Trunk plot

"The woman holds the secret!... The trunk holds the shock!"

A young woman marries a British lawyer. Her jealous ex-boyfriend convinces her that she is guilty of the death of her new husband's ex-wife. She then offers him money to keep this death quiet. However, the situation turns out not to be as it initially seemed.
