"MIGHTY! POWERFUL! RULER OF MEN. A Voice in the Dark. Who?"
Jack Bannister is a powerful and prominent person in the underworld. Jack covers his criminal activities under a cloak of respectability. Although Jack is cold-blooded in all his business affairs, he only cares for the well-being of his beloved daughter Gloria. He carefully protects her from his criminal cronies. When Gloria learns the truth about her father one day, she angrily walks out of his life. This life deteriorates for Jack when his 'faithful' accomplice Abner Sneed turns out to have betrayed him.
